A Journey of the Seventh Fire: A Continuation
1232 Indian Trail ~ Blackshear, Georgia
HOW: Meditation and Contemplation. A loose schedule of events will be planned. Intertribal and Stomp Dancing are definitely being considered.
The Gathering will begin at 7am 07/07/13 and will continue for 7 days to 07/14/13 on 7 acres of land.
It will begin by 7 fires lit by 7 fire keepers and 7 fire bearers by live embers carried in Alabama Mussel Shells to Seven Camps. When the fires are all lit, 7 Conch Shells will be sounded and the festivities will begin!!
The first day will be for meditation and contemplation on what it must have been like to be told we would all have to leave our homes, lands and ways of life; the second day will be to honor the Choctaw; the third day will be to honor the Chickasaw; the fourth day will be to honor the Seminole; the fifth day will be to honor the Creek; the sixth day will be to honor the Cherokee. Finally comes the seventh day, to look back at the suffering and changes our ancestors endured.
We want to invite peoples from all tribes to feel welcome and connected here.
There will be trade blankets daily, there will be NO Vending.
PLEASE Call me if you are interested in attending or if you wish to help make this gathering a success. The FEED will consist of Communal Stone Soup! The Specialty of the House!!
